Jacobs Student 1 of 3 In World To Ace AP Calculus Exam
Jacobs High School senior Nick Belizzi answered every question correctly on the difficult AP Calculus BC Exam, which he took in 2017.

ALGONQUIN, IL – Jacobs High School senior Nick Belizzi is among a select few who answered every question correctly on the challenging AP Calculus BC Exam in 2017. In fact, he is just one of three in the world who got a perfect score on the difficult assessment. The three perfect scores across the world account for only .002 percent of the total AP Calculus BC exam takers last year, according to a news release.
Belizzi said he knew when he received a large envelope from the AP that "it was something important." When he read the letter, he didn't know what to say. But the news definitely put a smile on his face, according to The Collage Board news release.
"Really, it felt a bit surreal, knowing that there were so many places where I could’ve gone wrong, yet I somehow dodged all of these obstacles—to think that I am just one of just three students in the entire world to accomplish this feat on the AP exam last year seems to be one of my most considerable achievements,” he said.

In addition to his amazing feat with the AP Calculus exam, Belizzi has received a score of 5, the highest score awarded, on all his five AP exams from sophomore to junior year. What made the AP Calculus exam unique is that he actually earned every point possible by answering every question correctly on the exam, according to a news release from The College Board.
Belizzi has always had a passion for mathematics. It is a subject that has come easily to him and he says he is very grateful for his teacher Mr. Alexander Lepkowski. Belizzi said that Lepkowski made his class review free response and multiple choice questions nearly every single day leading up to the AP exam.
