Lake in the Hills Man Dies Following South Barrington Crash
Michael D. Billings died early Saturday at a suburban hospital.

A 60-year-old Lake in the Hills man died Saturday after his vehicle rear-ended a truck stopped at a traffic light at Higgins Road and Route 59 in South Barrington Friday morning.
Emergency personnel responded to the crash and found Michael D. Billings, of the 900 block of Brandt Drive in Lake in the Hills, conscious and took him to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates where he underwent surgery. Billings was later pronounced dead at 2:39 a.m. on Saturday, according to the Barrington Courier-Review.
The cause and manner of death is under investigation by the medical examiner’s office.
A memorial service for Billings will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Willow Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1415 W. Algonquin Road in Algonquin.
