Lake in the Hills Police to Host Teen Safety Series

Topics will include alcohol and drug effects, sexual assault and stalking, social media safety, dating violence, bullying and more.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL - The Lake in the Hills Police Department will host a Teen Safety Series in April.

The series will be presented by instructors from the Lake in the Hills Police Department along with assistance from The McHenry County Substance Abuse Coalition and several incredible guest speakers. The three-class series will be held at the police department's safety education center, 1109 Crystal Lake Road, from 6 to 9 p.m. on April 5 and from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on April 12 and April 19, according to a news release.

Topics will include: alcohol and drug effects, sexual assault and stalking, social media safety, dating violence, bullying, peer pressure, social scene safety, police encounters and more.

During the initial class on April 5, there will also be a parent's meeting from 6 to 6:30 p.m. at the Lake in the Hills Police Department, 1115 Crystal Lake Road in Lake in the Hills, according to a news release.

The class is open to males and females ages 12 to 16 years old. The class is limited to twenty participants.
