Lake in the Hills Village Board President in Court on Domestic Battery Charge
A judge ordered the case be continued until next month.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL - Lake in the Hills Village President Paul Mulcahy was in court on Monday where a McHenry County judge ordered his domestic battery case be continued to next month.
Mulcahy has been charged with domestic battery after a woman, who he was in a “dating relationship” with called to report a domestic incident that happened on Nov. 6 at Mulcahy’s home and involved a “physical altercation,” according to the Northwest Herald.
Mulcahy, 64, was taken into custody at about 1:42 a.m. on that date and was later released bond, according to online jail records.

Following his Monday court appearance, Mulcahy declined to comment on the charges but his attorney told the Daily Herald, “Our own investigation continues.”
Mulcahy was released from jail after posting a $200 bond. He has been ordered to surrender his firearms, according to online court records.

Mulcahy is next expected in court on Dec. 12.
Mulcahy has been the village president since 2013.
