LITH Man Killed, Woman and Toddler Injured in Two-Car Crash in McHenry County
The crash occurred on Saturday night at Route 23 and Streit Road in unincorporated Dunham Township.

A 22-year-old Lake in the Hills man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in rural McHenry County over the weekend. The crash occurred at 7:38 p.m. on Saturday when a 2010 Ford F150 pickup truck failed to stop at a stop sign while heading east on Streit Road and collided with a 2012 Nissan Maxima sedan, which was southbound on Illinois Route 23 in unincorporated Dunham Township.
The Lake in the Hills man, who was not wearing a seatbelt and whose identity is not currently being released, was ejected from his truck and was taken to a Rockford hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to a McHenry County Sheriff’s Office press release.

All three inside the Nissan Maxima were from Harvard and were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Their identities are not being released at this time.
The cause of the crash is currently undetermined, police said. The investigation is ongoing by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Traffic Crash Investigations Unit and Winnebago County Coroner’s Office.
