The crash happened during the early morning hours of Sept. 6, 2015. Vincent Myers has been sentenced to eight years in prison.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL - A 47-year-old Lake in the Hills man has been sentenced to eight years in prison for driving drunk and crashing into two men who pulled over on the side of Algonquin Road in Lake in the Hills to help a friend whose motorcycle broke down.
Vincent Myers registered a blood alcohol concentration nearly twice the legal limit when his Lincoln MKZ crashed into Zachary Feltman, 18, and Juan Martinez, 26, during the early morning hours of Sept. 6, 2015, near the intersection of Pyott and Algonquin Roads, prosecutors said Wednesday. Myers, who has two prior DUI convictions, was sentenced Wednesday in McHenry County on a charge of driving under the influence causing great bodily harm.
Martinez and 18-year-old Brandon Dominguez were following behind a motorcycle driven by Feltman when the motorcycle began malfunctioning, according to the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s news release. They parked behind Feltman and turned on their hazard lights. Feltman and Martinez began searching the trunk of the Honda Civic for something to help tow the motorcycle off the road when they were struck by Myers vehicle.
