LITH Residents Given ‘Preference’ for Special Census Jobs in Village This Fall

The village will be conducting a partial special census this fall. Positions pay from $11.99 to $16.49 per hour.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL -- The village will be conducting a partial special census this fall in the Residences, Villas and Lakes of Boulder Ridge subdivision and is currently taking applications for various positions, according to a village news release.

Those positions include: crew leaders, which pays $16.49 per hours; enumerators, which pays $14.99 per hour; and clerical staff, which pays $11.99 per hour. U.S. citizens and Lake in the Hills residents will be given preference for census jobs. However, non-residents and non-citizens may still apply, according to village officials.

Completed applications are due by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 20. All selected applicants must be available on Monday, Sept. 26, to complete the required written examination, which will take place at the Lake in the Hills Village Hall, 600 Harvest Gate.

Selected applicants will be notified of their testing time by 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23.

  • Should be at least 18 years old
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a vehicle available for their use
  • Should have the ability to hear responses and to read questionnaires
  • Should be able to work several hours a day (a minimum of 20 hours per week), which often includes a lot of walking and climbing stairs
  • Should be available for day, evening and weekend work, as neededhould be available to attend a four-day training session, one day field training, and an estimated 10 days of production
