Man Who Fell From Roof Has Life-Threatening Injuries: Fire Officials

The man fell from a roof in East Dundee Tuesday afternoon, officials said.

EAST DUNDEE, IL - A man who was taken to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after he fell from a roof while working on a home in East Dundee has life-threatening injuries, fire officials told the Daily Herald. Emergency personnel responded to the home in the 400 block of Hill Street at about 2 p.m. to find the man, who was between 65 and 70 years old and had sustained injuries from the apparent fall, the Elgin Courier-News reports.

A Flight for Life helicopter responded but emergency crews ended up taking the man, who was unconscious at the time, to Sherman Hospital in Elgin via ambulance with Flight for Life crews on board assisting, according to the Elgin Courier News.

The helicopter landed at the playground at Immanuel Evangelical Church and School in East Dundee on Tuesday afternoon. Officials at the school posted a note on its Facebook page Tuesday to alert parents that the incident did not involve anyone from their church or school but it was "simply the closest location for them to land."
