National Night Out Events Planned For Algonquin, LITH, Area Towns

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL – Police departments across McHenry County, including the Algonquin and Lake in the Hills police departments, will be hosting National Night Out eventsthis week. National Night Out is an event meant to bring residents out to meet their neighbors and their local law enforcement agencies. The annual "community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live," according to the National Night Out website.

Thousands of communities across the U.S. will participate in National Night Out. Here is information on area events happening Tuesday, Aug. 7:

• 2018 National Night Out in Algonquin will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Aug. 7 at St. John's Lutheran School, 300 Jefferson St, Algonquin. More via Facebook.
• Crystal Lake Police Department National Night Out will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 7 at Three Oaks Recreation Area, 5517 Northwest Highway, Crystal Lake. More information via Patch.com.
• Cary Police Department National Night Out will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 7 on West Main Street in downtown Cary. More information via Patch.com.
• McHenry County National Night Out will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Peterson Park, 4300 Peterson Park Road, McHenry. More information via Patch.com.
• National Night Out in Huntley will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Huntley Police Department, 10911 Main St. in Huntley. More information via Facebook.

In addition, the Lake in the Hills Police Department will host a National Night Out Event on Aug. 11.

• National Night Out Free Community Cookout in Lake in the Hills will be from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11. More information via Facebook.
