New Art Van Furniture in Algonquin to Hold Career Fair Wednesday

A new Art Van Furniture in Algonquin will host a career fair Wednesday with plans to hire 30 new employees in preparation for its April store opening.

The furniture store will be holding a career fair on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at its Batavia store, 165 Randall Road, for full- and part-time sales associate positions as well as hourly positions for its Algonquin location.

Those interested in applying for jobs at the career fair should bring a current resume and dress in business attire.

“We look forward to meeting motivated individuals in the Algonquin area who want a dynamic career in a supportive environment,” said Gary Duncan, Art Van Furniture vice president of human resources. “There is great anticipation for the opening of our second Art Van Furniture store on Randall Road, and our new associates will be instrumental in its success.”

Full time positions include paid training, full benefits with Blue Cross/Blue Shield, dental insurance, a vision care plan, 401k, profit sharing and Art Van Furniture discounts. Part time jobs including flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Salary is commission-based, and Art Van Furniture “offers one of the highest paid commission structures in the industry,” according to a news release.

The 48,000-square-foot Algonquin store at 1500 S. Randall Road will be located in the former Gordman’s store. Store officials say they plan to open the store in early April.

The new Algonquin location will be the tenth Art Van Furniture in the Chicago area.
