New Restaurants, Retail Shop Open In Downtown Algonquin
Plus, a new Japanese steakhouse and sushi restaurant will be opening soon along Randall.

ALGONQUIN, IL — In recent weeks, we’ve had readers reach out to us, asking about new businesses. Many of those questions were from local residents who spotted construction happening at a previously vacant building and wanted to know: “what’s coming to town?”

I have since reached out to Russ Farnum, the community development director for the village of Algonquin, to get you some answers.

What is being built in the former Famous Dave’s along Randall?
Sapporo Tanoshi, a Japanese steakhouse and sushi restaurant, will be going into the former Famous Dave’s at 1521 S. Randall Road, Farnum said.

“They are at least a month away from opening but construction is progressing nicely, Farnum told Patch in an e-mail response on Feb. 1.
What new businesses are coming to downtown Algonquin?
Cattleman’s Burgers and Bre, at 205 S. Main Street, and Bullseye’s Pub & Eatery, at 119 S. Main St., are both now open, according to both of the business’s respective Facebook pages.
Speckled Sunshine is a new retail shop at 124 S. Main that opened this past week. The farmhouse and cottage decor store sells furniture and home decorations.
Where is the new Deli4You sandwich shop going to be?
The new Deli4You is being considered for an area just east of JoAnn Fabrics and north of Bowlero along Randall.
“They will be going through the approval process starting with the March Planning and Zoning Commission meeting,” Farnum said.
