One Hospitalized, Dog Saved In Algonquin Fire
Firefighters were able to douse the fire in 15 minutes and save the family dog. Nobody suffered life-threatening injuries.

ALGONQUIN, IL — Firefighters from the Algonquin-LITH Fire Protection District saved a dog from a fire Monday morning, the Northwest Herald reported, but one person had to be taken to the hospital.
Firefighters responded to the 1100 block of Stonegate Road in Algonquin, arriving around 11:40 a.m., according to the Herald, where they found heavy smoke coming from the back of the house.
Two residents were able to get out, but the family dog was stuck in the basement, where the fire started, according to the Herald. They had the blaze under control in about 15 minutes, the Herald reported Fire Chief John Knebl as saying.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. The person transported to the hospital was reported to have non life-threatening.
