• Patch's Best 2026 Halloween Yard Haunts: Lake and McHenry Counties (patch.com) — Algonquin families can visit the Dark Chapel yard haunt at 1490 White Chapel Lane, open nightly through Halloween with extended hours on Fridays and Saturdays. Longtime creator Darren Rich has moved his popular Westbury Manor and Cemetery display here, bringing animatronics and elaborate decorations that have twice earned the title of Algonquin's spookiest house.
