Pedestrian Struck, Killed by Metra Train in Elgin

The pedestrian has not been identified and the Wednesday crash remains under investigation.

ELGIN, IL - A pedestrian was hit and killed by a Metra train in Elgin Wednesday afternoon, according to the Elgin Courier-News. An outbound train heading for the Big Timber Station struck the pedestrian at about 3 p.m. at Kimball Street, just west of Route 38.

The crash did cause some delays Wednesday afternoon on the Milwaukee District west line. The crash remains under investigation.
