Pingree Road Reopens After Natural Gas Leak in Area
Authorities closed the roadway at about 11:30 a.m. Pingree Road has since been reopened.

The Lake in the Hills Police Department has reopened Pingree Road after officials closed the roadway Monday morning due to a natural gas leak, according to police.
The police department sent out a Nixle alert at 11:30 a.m. that read:
Pingree Road in Lake in the Hills will be closed from Virginia Road to Rakow Road due to a gas leak. Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Fire Department and the Lake in the Hills Police Department are on scene. Emergency crews are awaiting the arrival of Nicor. Please take an alternate route to avoid the area.
As of 12 p.m., the road has reopened, according to the LITH Police Department's Facebook page.
