Police ID Deputy Critically Injured In Crash In Kane County
Brian Anderson, 33, suffered several leg fractures and was listed in stable but critical condition Monday
KANE COUNTY, IL — Authorities have identified the Kane County Sheriff's Office deputy critically injured in a Monday morning collision as Brian Anderson, 33.
Anderson was flown to Good Samaritan Hospital following the crash, which happened at about 7 a.m. on Route 47 south of Plank Road.
Anderson, who has been with the Kane County Sheriff's Office for 10 months, was listed in stable but critical condition Monday and he suffered multiple leg fractures, according to a news release from the Kane County Sheriff's Office.

Anderson's squad car was headed south on Route 47 when a northbound Dodge Ram attempted to stop in traffic and then drove into the southbound lanes. The truck, which was towing a loaded trailer, hit the squad car head-on, according to the news release.
There were three people in the Dodge Ram, and at least one person was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital with unknown injuries, according to authorities.

The driver of the vehicle has since been identified as Indalecio Munoz of the 1100 block of Madison Boulevard in Marseilles.
Meanwhile, Illinois State Police are investigating the collision and working to see if alcohol or drugs played a factor in the crash. The probe into the crash is ongoing.
