Randall Road Construction Kicks Into High Gear

Motorists should be aware of a traffic shift coming to the roadway soon.

From McHenry County: With winter over, work on the Randall Road Improvement Project will kick into high gear in the next few weeks.

Temporary pavement installation is expected to begin soon on the east side of Randall Road, between Polaris Drive/Acorn Lane in Lake in the Hills, and Harnish Drive in Algonquin. Traffic will be shifted onto it so widening work can begin on the west side of the road. Road construction will last through the year, along with the building of a pedestrian underpass and a retaining wall, and detention pond and storm sewer work. Traffic will be shifted to the new pavement during the 2020 construction season so work can be done on the east side of Randall Road.

Traffic disruptions should be minimal, but occasional lane closures are anticipated, and drivers
are asked to obey work zone speed limits and watch out for workers. The three-year project will widen and improve Randall Road to three lanes in each direction, and four lanes from the Polaris/Acorn intersection south to the intersection of Bunker Hill and Huntington drives. The project also includes:
