Rear Deck Catches Fire In Algonquin Townhome Blaze

The cause of the Saturday night fire remains under investigation.

ALGONQUIN, IL — The cause of a blaze that damaged a townhome in Algonquin over the weekend remains under investigation, fire officials said. Fire crews were called to the structure fire at 30 Sierra Court at 11:01 p.m. on Saturday. When they arrived at the scene, they found a fully involved fire showing from the rear deck.

Residents were home at the time of the fire and evacuated prior to firefighters arrived. The fire was extinguished a short time later.

No firefighters were injured, according to a news release from the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District.
