Roadside Safety Check to be Held on Cinco de Mayo in Kane Co.

The roadside safety check will be held during the evening hours of May 5.

The Illinois State Police will conduct a roadside safety check during the evening hours of May 5 in Kane County.

Officers will be on the lookout for impaired drivers and those who are operating vehicles in an unsafe manner, driving with a suspended or revoked driver’s license, transporting open alcoholic beverages or driving under the influence, according to an Illinois State Police news release.

Alcohol and drug impairment is a significant factor in nearly 40 percent of all fatal motor vehicle crashes in Illinois. RSCs are designed to keep our roads safe by taking dangerous DUI offenders off the road.
