D155 Students Achieve Highest ACT Composite Score in District History

Prairie Ridge High School also set a new record with its recent graduating class earning a composite score of 24.2

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL - For the first time in Community High School District 155’s history, the class of 2016 achieved the highest ACT composite score, according to a news release. The composite score for D155 was 23.1, which was well above the state composite score of 20.8

“I am proud of this distinct accomplishment and the progress within our district. District 155 continues to be recognized on a state and national level as a result of the outstanding work by our students, teachers, and administration,” said Ted Wagner, Board of Education president.

In the last three years the district has achieved its highest scores. The Class of 2015 earned a composite score of 22.9 while the Class of 2014 earned a score of 23.

“In District 155, we work together as a team, and we focus on the whole child to inspire, empower, and nurture. With the students as a focus, our staff continues to make history academically in our district,” said Dr. Johnnie Thomas, superintendent.

Prairie Ridge High School also set a school record with a 24.2 composite score. Meanwhile, Cary-Grove High School earned a 23.5, Crystal Lake Central High School earned a 22.2 and Crystal Lake South High School had a composite score of 22.6.

Earlier this year, two students from Crystal Lake South scored a perfect 36 on the ACT.
