8 Crystal Lake Businesses Fail Alcohol Compliance Checks
The businesses, which include a Walgreens, sushi restaurant and World Market, sold alcohol to a minor during recent checks, police said.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL -- Eight Crystal Lake businesses failed alcohol compliance checks last month after they illegally sold alcohol to a minor, according to Crystal Lake police.
The Crystal Lake Police Department completed alcohol compliance checks from Aug. 20 through Aug. 22 at 69 Crystal Lake locations that sell alcohol. In all of the 69 businesses, persons under 21 years old, cooperating under the guidance and supervision of officers, entered and attempted to purchase alcoholic beverages, according to a police department news release.
At most of the businesses, sales were halted when the clerk or business employee properly checked the purchaser’s identification and recognized them as being underage and did not sell the alcohol to them, according to police.
