Man Arrested for Assaulting Girl at New 'Scream Park' in McHenry County

Fernando Sanchez-Mercado was arrested Sunday at the newly-opened ScaryTown Scream Park in Harvard.

HARVARD, IL - A 25-year-old Harvard man faces charges after he allegedly pulled a girl close without her consent, kissed her cheek and ran his fingers through her hair at the newly-opened ScaryTown Scream Park in Harvard Sunday night.

Fernando Sanchez-Mercado is charged with aggravated battery, disorderly conduct and assault in connection with the assault of a young girl and another incident that occurred at the Scream Park Sunday where he allegedly removed a decorative picket fence section from a display and held it over his head while approaching a boy, according to the Northwest Herald.

Sanchez-Mercado was released from jail early Monday after posting 10 percent of his $1,500 bond.

He is next expected in court on Nov. 8.
