Man Found Dead After Lake In The Hills Barricade Situation

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL -- A man was found dead in a Lake In The Hills home after Lake In the Hills Police and the McHenry County SWAT unit responded to a report of a shot fired in the 1100 block of Burr Street. Police responded to the incident at around 5 p.m. after a reported assault involving neighbors, the Northwest Herald reported.

A Lake In The Hills police officer told the Northwest Herald that one of the neighbors went into a room in his home and refused to open the door. Officers heard a single shot fired from inside the room where the man was barricaded, according to police.

After failing to make contact with the man, SWAT officers entered the room and found him dead, police told the Chicago Sun-Times.
