Suspect Swaps Out Darth Vadar Mask for Fisherman Hat in Most Recent Bank Robbery

The FBI is looking for a man accused of robbing banks in Carpentersville, West Chiacgo and Geneva in the past month.

GENEVA, IL - A man suspected of robbing a bank in Geneva while wearing a Darth Vadar mask last month is now being sought by police for a bank robbery that happened in Carpentersville on Monday. This time, he chose to wear a black nylon stocking over his face and a fisherman hat.

The FBI also believes the man, who is described as a black male in his mid-40s with a large build, is responsible for an armed robbery at a Fifth Third Bank in West Chicago on July 5. In that robbery, his face was visible and he wore a baseball cap with the “Miami Heat” logo on it.

On Monday, the man entered a Fifth Third Bank at 154 S. Western Ave. in Carpentersville at about 4:40 p.m., according to bandittrackerchicago.com. He showed a handgun and walked out of the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to the Daily Herald. No one was injured in the robbery.

The Carpentersville bank robbery comes just weeks after the suspect is accused of entering First American Bank, 1789 S. Randall Road in Geneva, at 2:37 p.m. on July 29. He was again armed with a gun but this time was wearing a Darth Vadar mask and a nylon stocking over his head. He was also wearing an orange shirt and tan pants. Police did not reveal how much cash the robber got away with, according to the Aurora Beacon-News.

The West Chicago bank robbery happened at a Fifth Third Bank at 11:05 a.m. on July 5. Police believe the same suspect robbed the bank at 1800 North Neltnor Boulevard while wearing a black flat billed hat with the "Heat logo" on the front, a grey-hooded sweatshirt, oversized jeans, and slip on grey shoes.

The suspect is further described as a black male weighing around 250 pounds and between 6 feet 3 inches and 6 feet five inches tall.
