Teen Charged With DUI After Driving Off Western Bypass, Into Creek

The crash happened Friday night.

ALGONQUIN, IL - A 17-year-old boy was charged with DUI and reckless driving after he drove his car off the Western Bypass in Algonquin before landing in a creek behind the U.S. Post Office.

The crash happened at about 11:30 p.m. on Friday when the vehicle, which was headed north on Route 31 on the bypass, lost control and careened over a raised median and into oncoming traffic, according to the Northwest Herald. The 17-year-old and two other male passengers in the vehicle were taken to the hospital.

Updates on their conditions were not known.
