Welcome Back to School, District 158!

Summer is officially over for most kids attending District 158 schools. 

Today marks the start of the school year for grades 1 through 12 in schools. Kindergarten students start Thursday.  

With the new school year upon us, we want to hear from Lake in the Hills parents and students in District 158: Are you excited to be back to school? What are you looking forward to most this year? 

that provides useful information for District 158 parents and students. 

We are looking forward to continuing to provide coverage of District 158 this year, as well as the three other school districts LITH kids attends. 

And we always enjoy hearing from readers on how we can improve coverage: What do you think we should we be focusing on within D158 or your school district this year? Any particular teams or organizations that deserve a shout out? Or students or staff within the district that stand out? 

For the Lake in the Hills kids still on summer break — enjoy it while it lasts!  for the other school districts that LITH students attend: 

• District 158: Kindergarten students start Aug. 25. 
• District 155:  start on Aug. 25
• District 47:  all students (except kindergarten students) attending District 47 schools is Aug. 30 and will be a half day. The first day for kindergarten students is Aug. 31.

For those who have some time before school starts, what will you be doing over these last weeks of summer? Any fun trips? And what are you looking forward to, or dreading, about that first day of school?
