Lucky Rosie Finds Not One, But Two Four-Leaf Clovers
Rosie Hiler, 7, of Alsip, found not one but two four-leaf clovers.
ALSIP, IL—Some people spend their entire lives looking for a four-leaf clover, never finding one. Seven-year-old Rosie Hiler, of Alsip, frequently looks for four-leaf clovers whenever she has a moment outside.
Friday, on the first day of spring, Rosie, along with her big brother, Egidus, and little sister, Hazel, was waiting outside while their mom, Amanda Slakaitis, got the baby ready for their daily walk to the park.
"Rosie frequently searches for one any time she has a moment to pause outside," Amanda said.

Rosie burst inside, excitedly yelling that she found a lucky clover outside. Remarkably, she was actually looking for just that. Before bedtime, Rosie still couldn’t believe her good fortune.
"Mom, I still can't believe I found a four-leaf clover. We're the luckiest family ever,” Amanda said.

Four-leaf clovers are considered lucky for their rarity. In the Middle Ages, it was believed by some Celtic groups that wielding a four-leaf clover would help you see fairies, as well as ward off evil spirits and grant the holder good luck. The odds of finding one are 1 in 10,000.
Not only did Rosie find a four-leaf clover on the first day of spring, but she also found another on Sunday, proving that winter is definitely behind us.
