It's the third annual Village of Antioch Small Town Smoke Out!Join your friends and neighbors on Saturday, September 19th, at the William E. Brook Entertainment Center (Antioch Bandshell).Also, come out and cheer on your favorite first responders! The Antioch Fire Department, Village of Antioch Police Department, and Bristol Fire &amp; Rescue will compete to see who takes home the Best BBQ bragging rights. A panel of five judges will taste and score the entries, with competition ribs donated by The Lodge of Antioch. Judges’ tasting and awards will take place at 5:00 PM.  First Responder BBQ Champion announced at 5 p.m. following judges’ tasting. 47 Years of Tradition Returns to Veterans Park!
The skies over Milwaukee’s lakefront will once again come alive with color and excitement as Gift of Wings hosts the IKEA Frank Mots International Kite Festival on Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13, 2026. <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrNgcpp5Mn8" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrNgcpp5Mn8</a>
The event will run from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturday (until 5:00 PM on Sunday) at Veterans Park, a beautiful Milwaukee County park on the lakefront. The highlight of each day is the spectacular Grand Launch at Noon, when more than 600 kites will fill the sky at once.

Special Kids Activity
The first 100 kids to participate in the Window Nation “Kids Mad Dash” will receive a free kite courtesy of Gift of Wings and Window Nation! Watch as 100 colorful kites launch into the sky at the same time — it’s a sight you won’t want to miss. We will need a volunteer to untangle lines. Can I count on you 😊
Gift of Wings will also have a full selection of kites and delicious food available for purchase throughout the weekend.
The IKEA Frank Mots International Kite Festival is FREE to attend and offers plenty of FREE parking.

Guests will spend the afternoon sipping, shopping, and strolling through Antioch’s historic downtown, with more than 50 wines featured at 30-plus participating restaurants, retailers, and local businesses.Antioch’s Wine Walk has become a signature event for the village, combining the feel of a relaxed afternoon outing with the opportunity to discover local shops, restaurants, and gathering places. For many, the event is as much about the downtown experience as it is about the wine. Participants can explore storefronts, meet business owners, enjoy the early fall atmosphere, and experience the walkable charm that has made Antioch a destination in northern Illinois.Tickets are $49 and include a commemorative wine glass, keepsake tote bag, raffle entry, and a bonus bottle of wine to take home. This fall’s event will feature upgraded wine selections curated specifically for the fall celebration, allowing attendees to sample a wide variety of wines throughout the afternoon. “The Antioch Wine Walk is a chance to slow down, enjoy sips of wine with friends, and experience the charm of our downtown during one of the best times of the year,” said Antioch Mayor Scott Gartner. “We love seeing people make memories here, whether they come for a leisurely afternoon out or give the experience as a gift.”Downtown Antioch provides an ideal backdrop for the event.
