ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Firefighters rescued three people from a fire at an apartment in Arlington Heights Wednesday night, fire officials said. The blaze broke out in the kitchen of a second-floor apartment in the three-story building at 16 E. Northwest Highway at 11:21 p.m., according to the Daily Herald.
Firefighters had to use a ladder to get to a man stuck inside a top floor apartment, and walked two other residents out following an initial search of the building, according to the article. One person was taken to Northwest Community Hospital to be treated for injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
As of Thursday morning, the apartment building was uninhabitable but residents should be able to soon return after basic repairs have been made and the area has been cleaned up.
