5 Injured In Single-Vehicle Crash In Arlington Heights
The collision happened Saturday afternoon at Arlington Heights Road and Magnolia Street.

CHICAGO AREA, IL — Five people were taken to the hospital following a single-vehicle collision in Arlington Heights Saturday afternoon.
The crash happened at about 1:15 p.m. Saturday when a 2012 Ford Escape heading south on Arlington Heights Road at Magnolia Street went off the road and hit a sign at the AAEC Credit Union, according to a news release from the police department.
The driver, a 32-year-old Elmwood Park woman, and three other female passengers, who are all from Chicago, were take to Northwest Community Hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

A 71-year-old Chicago woman was transported to Lutheran General Hospital for treatment of a serious head injury. The elderly woman is in critical condition, authorities said Saturday night.
Authorities do not think that drugs or alcohol contributed to the collision, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Authorities closed Arlington Heights Road at Magnolia Street following the crash. All lanes of traffic have since reopened in both directions.
