5-Year Jail Term for Man Who Received Explicit Photos of Girl, 10, He Met Online
Daniel Santiago, 26, of Arlington Heights, pleaded guilty to knowingly receiving child pornography in August.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — A 26-year-old Arlington Heights man who admitted to receiving sexually explicit images of a 10-year-old girl he met online was sentenced to five years in prison Tuesday, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Daniel Santiago pleaded guilty in August to knowingly receiving child pornography as part of a deal with federal prosecutors. Santiago was accused of trying to seduce a 10-year-old girl during several online coverations in 2014.
After receiving an explicit photo of the girl, Santiago uploaded the image to an online file-sharing platform for others to view it, prosecutors said. He also used that file-sharing app to store, access and share additional child pornography he had collected, according to his written plea agreement.

Santiago had acquired more than 2,200 pictures and about 25 videos, the deal stated. That collection contained images of prepubescent minors, as well as depictions of sado-masochism, Santiago admitted in the agreement.
