9 People With 'Gang Connections' Arrested In Hotel Standoff: Cops
The incident Friday night began after Arlington Heights police heard gunfire from the Red Roof Inn parking lot on Algonquin Road.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Nine people who police characterized as having "gang connections" were arrested Friday night at a hotel after shots were fired in the parking lot, according to the Arlington Heights Post.
At around 9:30 p.m. Friday, March 31, Arlington Heights police near the Red Roof Inn, 22 W. Algonquin Road, heard shots fired from the hotel's parking lot, the report stated. Three people who were found by officers in the parking lot were taken into custody after they initially tried to flee, the report added.
Evidence found on the suspects led police to open an investigation at the scene, the report stated. Further questioning also revealed that additional suspects were nearby at the Courtyard Chicago Arlington Heights/South, 100 W. Algonquin Road, the report added.

Police told the Post the nine suspects — a mix of men and women, as well as two juveniles — would be charged by Monday, and their bond hearings are expected to be later that day.
