'Accidental' House Fire Originates In Upstairs Bedroom: Palatine FD
The Sunday morning blaze in the 600 block of West Parkside Drive was fought by 25 firefighters.
PALATINE, IL — A house fire that was fought by 25 firefighters Sunday morning originated in a second floor bedroom, according to officials. The fire occurred in the 600 block of West Parkside Drive.
One resident sustained non-life-threatening burns and was taken to a local hospital. No firefighters were injured. Damages estimates are not available at this time.
Firefighters responded to the structure fire at around 8:38 a.m. and found smoke coming from the house, which upgraded the response. Officials said crews quickly realized the fire originated in a bedroom on the house's second floor.

The initial fire crews deployed a hose line to the second floor. Other crews used thermal imaging cameras to check for victims. All residents were safely located outside the house. The fire was declared under control at 08:57 a.m.
Palatine fire investigators determined the fire was accidental and remains under investigation.
It was fought by 25 firefighters, staffing four engines, one ladder truck, one rescue squad, and three ambulances, which responded to the scene along with three command officers.

During the incident, a Fox River Grove ambulance stood by at Palatine Fire Station 82 to provide coverage for any additional calls. Palatine police assisted at the scene with traffic and crowd control.
