ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Drivers using the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway should plan for an overnight ramp closure this weekend as work continues at the Arlington Heights Road interchange.
The ramp carrying eastbound I-90 traffic to Arlington Heights Road is scheduled to close at midnight Friday, Aug. 28, and reopen by 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, according to the Illinois Tollway.

A posted detour will direct drivers to exit at Elmhurst Road, continue west on Algonquin Road and then access Arlington Heights Road.
The closure is needed for ongoing tolling equipment work at the interchange.
Electronic message boards and construction signs will be posted in advance, and the Tollway said the schedule is weather dependent.
Extended lane reductions and traffic shifts are also in place on ramps at the Arlington Heights Road interchange as part of broader toll plaza improvements.
Work expected to continue through 2027 includes removing toll plaza canopies and barrier walls, installing new monotube and tolling infrastructure, pavement and shoulder work, and electrical, lighting and signage improvements.
The Tollway said the project is intended to improve traffic flow and operations.

The Arlington Heights Road work is part of broader improvements at toll plazas across the Illinois Tollway system.
The projects are being funded through the Tollway's $15 billion Move Illinois capital program and its $2 billion Bridging the Future plan.
The Illinois Tollway maintains and operates 294 miles of roadway across northern Illinois.
