Annual Fire Department Open House Planned For Palatine

PALATINE, IL — If you're looking for a chance to learn a little more about the Palatine Fire Department while enjoying time at a family-friendly community event this weekend, the annual open house is scheduled for Saturday.

The outdoor event runs from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Station 84, 220 W. Illinois Ave. According to organizers, planned events include a fire and rescue vehicle showcase, displays of specialty team equipment, children’s activities, and an overview of fire safety principles.

Among the organizations participating in the open house are: Palatine Fire Prevention Division, Palatine Historical Society, Northern Illinois Fire Sprinkler Advisory Board, the Palatine Park District, the Palatine Township, and ComEd.

Featured events include a vehicle extrication demonstration, firefighter and specialty team personal protective displays, and EMS equipment overview, and a live fire/sprinkler room demonstration.
