Arlington Heights Library Drive-Up Window Service Replaces Curbside Pickup On Friday

"With our drive-up window open on Friday, we are discontinuing curbside service."

(Google Maps)

With our drive-up window open on Friday, we are discontinuing curbside service. Customers will continue to scan their library card at the kiosk in the underground parking garage so that staff can prepare notified hold pickups at the drive-up window. Please be alert for increased pedestrian and drive-through traffic.

If you prefer to get your items while on foot or on a bike, your items can be retrieved from the pickup shelves in the library next to the checkout desk. We are currently experiencing a two-week delay in fulfilling holds due to high demand during the building closure. Thank you for your patience.

If you have other items on hold and realize you won't have time to read or watch them all at once, freezing your holds before they are ready for pickup will allow you to manage when you are ready for an item, and you won't lose your place in line.

Here's how drive-up window pickup works:

  • Have your library card and any additional family members' cards ready!
  • Enter the library's parking garage and proceed straight ahead to the stop sign near the curbside hold pickup kiosk.
  • At the kiosk, remain in your vehicle, open your window and scan your library card barcode. You do not have to get out of your vehicle.
  • Proceed to the drive-up window to pick up your items.

Thank you for your continued support and patience as we resume services.
