Arlington Heights Police Participating In National Drug Take Back Day

Police said the service, which will be provided on Oct. 28, is free and anonymous with no questions asked.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Like it did in April, the Arlington Heights Police Department is participating in the upcoming 2023 National Drug Take Back Day. The event is planned for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, at the Arlington Heights Police Department, 200 E. Sigwalt St.

Police said the site will collect tablets, capsules, patches, and other forms of prescription drugs. It cannot accept liquids, needles, sharps, intravenous solutions, injectables, syringes (including Epi-pens), vape pens, inhalers, or illegal substances. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

The nationwide effort is spearheaded by the Drug Enforcement Administration and local police departments.

  • Total Collection Sites: 4,955
  • Total Weight Collected: 663,725 lbs. (332 Tons)
  • Total Weight All Time: 17,300,454 lbs. (8,650 Tons)
