Bomb Threat At Schaumburg Library Was 'Not Bonafide': Police

SCHAUMBURG, IL — A Tuesday evening bomb threat at Schaumburg Township District Library was "not bonafide," according to police. A preliminary investigation indicates the incident was related to other similar occurrences during the day at surrounding jurisdictions.
Police said a "thorough" search of the library's interior and exterior was completed and no suspicious items were found. The bomb threat was received in an online chat, according to police.
As of 7:16 p.m., according to a social media post, officers were clearing the area and the investigation is ongoing. The library will remain closed for this evening and reopen tomorrow.
