Missing Man Found Drowned In Lake Arlington Took His Own Life: Coroner
The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office released the cause of death for the missing 51-year-old Wheeling man Saturday afternoon.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office has determined suicide by drowning caused the death of a 51-year-old missing Wheeling man whose body was found in Lake Arlington Friday morning.
Police were called to Lake Arlington Friday morning after receiving a call from a person who said they found personal belongings near the boat launch. Police discovered that a vehicle belonging to the person was found in a nearby parking lot.
Officers also learned that a family member from Wheeling had reported the person missing and had concerns about his well-being, police said.

Divers from multiple police agencies were called to the scene while drones were sent out to search over the water, the shoreline, and nearby wooded areas, police said. At 11:15 a.m., a fireboat’s sonar detected an anomaly about 30 feet from shore from where the belongings were found, police said.
Divers were able to find the body, which was recovered and taken to shore. Paramedics determined that there was no chance of resuscitation, police said Friday afternoon.
