Drunken Driver Crashes Into House: Police
A 27-year-old man was taken to the hospital after the collision early Saturday in Arlington Heights, police said.
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — A 27-year-old Arlington Heights man faces a drunken driving charge after he ran into a home in town early Saturday, authorities said. The collision happened at about 4:15 a.m. when a 2012 Chevrolet Colorado making a right turn onto eastbound Kirchoff lost control, left the road, struck a fence and tree and then the residence at 610 S. Yale Avenue, according to a news release from the Arlington Heights Police Department.
The driver of the Chevrolet was not wearing a seat belt. He was taken to Northwest Community Hospital for injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
No one else was inside the vehicle at the time of the crash and the homeowners, who were upstairs at the time of the crash, were not injured. The attached garage at 610 S. Yale sustained some damage during the collision but the home remained habitable after being inspected by village engineers, according to authorities.

The driver of the vehicle, whose name has not been released, will be charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to wear a seat belt and driving off the road after he is released from the hospital, police said.
Additional charges are possible, according to the news release.
