False Carjacking Report Not Under Investigation: Police

No crime occurred on Sunday in the area of Central Road and Dwyer Avenue, according to the Arlington Heights Police Department.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — A woman provided police with a false report of a carjacking Sunday in Arlington Heights, according to police. The woman told police at around 8:30 p.m. Feb. 21 she was the victim of a carjacking in the area of Central Road and Dwyer Avenue.

During the ensuing investigation into the allegation, police quickly learned the report was false and the woman provided the Arlington Heights Police Department with inaccurate information when making the report, according to a social media post.

Police said no crime occurred and there is no threat to the public related to the false report.
