Virtual Rocky Raccoon (1K/5K/10K) Race Aims to Raise Awareness

The nonprofit Illinois Fire Safety Alliance is hosting their first-ever virtual race this fall to help raise general awareness and funds for their signature program, Camp “I Am Me” – Illinois’ camp for young burn survivors.

Those participating in the Virtual Rocky Raccoon (1K/5K/10K) Run, presented by Restore Construction, Inc. will be making a direct impact by supporting young children and teenagers across the state that have been affected by burn injuries.

With the health and safety of supporters in mind, the Rocky Raccoon Run will be a virtual event. Whether you choose to run or walk, there are three distances to choose from – 1K, 5K, or 10K. You choose when and where your run between September 28 – November 8, 2020. After you complete the race, submit your results and earn your Rocky Raccoon race shirt and medal!

$30.00 5K or 10K registration includes:

$10.00 1K (great for young children) registration includes:

How to Run the Virtual Race

• Register for the Rocky Raccoon Run Race. Registration Opens September 28th and closes November 8th.
• Run or walk responsibly! You can run indoors, outdoors, or even on a treadmill.
• Submit your results on the Rocky Raccoon Run virtual results page.
• Show off your achievement by sharing your photos and tagging the IFSA on Facebook (@IllinoisFireSafetyAlliance) or Instagram (@ilfiresafety) and using #RockyRun.
• Medals, shirts, and swag will be available for pick-up or mailing shortly after the race concludes.

About Rocky Raccoon
Rocky Raccoon is a lovable, yet elusive character at Camp “I Am Me.” Each morning, while the campers our out having memorable experiences at one of the more than 50 various activities, Rocky races into every cabin to inspect and determine how tidy, or not, the living quarters are. Campers have the ability to cleanup as thoroughly as they care to. However, Rocky awards daily points to each of the 13 cabins based on their level of cleanliness and at the end of the week-long camp, only one winning cabin is celebrated – and those campers are honored by receiving the Rocky Raccoon Award!

About the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance: Since 1982, the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance (IFSA), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has been bringing together persons and groups with common interest in fire safety, burn prevention, and public education, and to promote programs and disseminate information related to fire safety and burn prevention.
