COOK COUNTY, IL — A former basketball coach and counselor at St. Viator High School has been indicted on a charge of sex abuse of a minor for allegedly groping a girl in his office, according to the Daily Herald. Prosecutors announced the indictment against Joseph Majkowski, 65, on the new charge on Thursday.

The latest charge comes months after authorities arrested Majkowski last April and charged him with disorderly conduct for sending inappropriate texts to students, police said. Majkowksi was again arrested on Dec. 27 in connection with the May 2019 groping incident.

Authorities launched the sex abuse investigation into Majkowski in October after a student came forward claiming Majkowksi rubbed her shoulders, chest and breasts, according to a news release from the Arlington Heights Police Department.
