Hoffman Estates Announces St. Patrick's Day DUI Enforcement Results

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL — The results of the annual St. Patrick's Day driving under the influence enforcement campaign in Hoffman Estates are in. According to police, one DUI arrest was made, 18 seatbelt citations were handed out, along with 10 violations for speeding.

In addition, two people were cited for distracted driving, one for driving on a suspended license, as well as 18 others were ticketed for minor equipment and moving violations.

"We strongly enforce traffic laws for one reason – to save lives," Sergeant Dan Donohue said.

The Hoffman Estates Police Department joined forces with state and local law enforcement and highway safety partners in the St. Patrick’s Day enforcement campaign. The enforcement campaign was funded by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
