If you have other items on hold and realize you won't have time to read or watch them all at once, freezing your holds before they are ready for pickup will allow you to manage when you are ready for an item, and you won't lose your place in line.

Here's how curbside pickup works:

Have your library card and any additional family members' cards ready!

Enter the library's parking garage and proceed straight ahead to the stop sign near the curbside hold pickup kiosk.

At the kiosk, remain in your vehicle, open your window and scan your library card barcode. You do not have to get out of your vehicle.

The kiosk will display a number that corresponds to a parking space in the garage.

Proceed to that number and park in the assigned parking space.

Open your trunk and remain in your vehicle while staff prepare your holds. The staff member will place the items in your trunk, close it, and you can be on your way.

Staff that bringing items to cars will be wearing face masks to help protect our customers and each other. We encourage our curbside pickup customers to wear masks to help protect the health of our library staff and slow the spread of the virus in our community.

Returning your items:

The return slots at the library and a new returns bin in the exterior parking lot near the garage are open for book returns. It may take up to a week to have items checked off your account due to the number of items being returned since our closure. Larger items that do not fit in the bins will not be accepted at this time; due dates will be extended.

All returned items will be quarantined for three days before being checked in and removed from your library card. Due dates for items have been extended until June 26. No fines will accrue while the library building is closed.

The library building remains closed to the public. All offsite book drops remain closed. We are unable to accept book donations at this time. All notices and updates about library services will be posted at ahml.info/StayInformed as they are available.

Thank you for your continued support and patience as we start this new curbside hold pickup service.
