Man Fixing Car Killed After It Falls on Him
The Arlington Heights man, 52, was repairing the brakes on the vehicle, which was on a jack when it fell Saturday afternoon.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — A car fell off its jack Saturday and pinned and killed the 52-year-old Arlington Heights man who was doing repair work on it in his driveway, the Daily Herald reports.
George Schober, of the 300 block of North Pine Avenue, died at about 4:14 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, from compressional asphyxia caused by the vehicle landing on top of him, the report stated.
According to police, Schober had the car up on a scissor jack in order to fix the brakes, according to the report. Authorities aren't sure how the vehicle fell on him or how long he was pinned under the car, the report stated. He was found with the car on top of him at about 4 p.m., the report added.
