HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL — A 25-year-old Carpentersville man, wanted on a warrant for shooting at Hoffman Estates police last month, has been arrested. Tonatiu "Tony" Moreno, of the 2100 block of Morningside Lane, Carpentersville, was arrested Tuesday and charged with felony attempted murder, along with five counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm, stemming from a Feb. 26 incident.

Moreno is due back in court Thursday.

At around 1:01 a.m. Feb. 26, police were flagged down in the 10 block of W. Golf Road regarding an unwanted person at a local business. An employee of the establishment told police they had asked a male and female to leave, but the male, later identified as Moreno, reportedly went to his vehicle, grabbed a gun and threatened the employee. Moreno then fled the area on foot after seeing police.
