Man Who Barricaded Himself In Apartment Charged: Police

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — A 42-year-old Arlington Heights man has been charged after he barricaded himself inside an apartment on Campbell Street on Thursday. Nicholas Wagner is charged with aggravated battery to a peace officer, aggravated assault to a peace officer, domestic battery and resisting a peace officer in connection with the early morning incident, according to a news release from the Arlington Heights Police Department.
Authorities were called to the apartment in the first block of Campbell Street at about 12:30 a.m. on Thursday for a report of a domestic situation, police said. A person with minor injuries was able to get out of the apartment.
But Wagner barricaded himself inside the residence. Authorities ultimately had to use spray pepper spray through the second-floor window of apartment before the Wagner finally exited the residence and was taken into custody, according to a news releaser from the police department.
