Metra Adds Service To Arlington Heights For Million Event
Metra will add a line for the 35th annual running of Arlington Million that will take place Aug. 12.

From Metra: Let Metra take you right to the gate this Saturday for the biggest day of thoroughbred horse racing in the Midwest, as the 35th annual running of Arlington Million takes place at Arlington International Racecourse.
Metra’s Union Pacific Northwest Line offers convenient access to the track with its Arlington Park stop. To accommodate the crowds expected for this annual event, Metra will add capacity to trains throughout the day and operate one additional inbound train following the race.
The Arlington Million, part of the Breeder’s Cup Challenge series and one of the nation’s premier turf racing events, is just one of several turf races in a day packed with excitement for race fans during the Arlington International Festival of Racing.

“Metra is a fast and reliable way to travel to the track,” said Metra Executive Director/CEO Don Orseno. “We are happy to add seating capacity and an additional inbound train to make the trip to this prestigious event even more convenient.”
Racecourse gates open at 11 a.m. Post time for the Million is 6:19 p.m. The additional inbound train will depart from the park at 7 p.m., making all stops to Ogilvie Transportation Center in Chicago. The train will reach its final destination at 7:58 p.m.

Fans can also take advantage of Metra’s $8 Weekend Pass and Metra’s Family Fares allow up to three children age 11 and under to ride free.
