Mount Prospect Man Disappears At Lake Catherine

MOUNT PROSPECT, IL — Authorities are searching for a Mount Prospect man who disappeared Saturday while swimming at Lake Catherine, according to police.

The 52-year-old jumped off a pontoon to swim, briefly resurfaced, fell below the water and was not seen again, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The sheriff’s marine unit responded around 4 p.m. to the lake near Antioch and, with area fire department boats, used sonar to search the water, which is about 30 feet deep, according to police. Authorities had not found the man as of Saturday night.
